Governor
We have vacancies across all of our schools for school governors.
A Governor, as part of the the school’s local governing body (LGB), is responsible for providing confident and strategic leadership, and creating robust accountability, oversight and assurance for the school’s educational and financial performance. Our LGB's are committed to supporting continuous school improvement to ensure the best possible outcomes for our pupils. A role description can be found below.
The term of office is four years from date of appointment.
You would be expected to:
- attending meetings, reading papers, and preparing questions for senior leaders in advance
- establishing and maintaining professional relationships with senior leaders and colleagues on the LGB
- getting to know the school, including visiting the school occasionally during school hours
- undertaking induction training and engaging in ongoing development
