Harry James – Chair of the Board of Trustees
Harry has been a National Leader of Governance for 6 years and is currently the Chair of Governors for Strathmore School. Other Governance experience includes Chair of Governors at the Holy Trinity Church of England Primary school (12 years) and a Governor at Strode’s 6th form college (3 years). Harry is a Governor Mark Assessor, Coach & Mentor for Teach First and associate education expert for The Key for governors website. Harry is currently retired and was previously the Head of Communication for The Post Office.
Dr Joanne Dixon – Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees
Joanne is an ex Clarendon parent but has a continuing active involvement with Clarendon School as a Governor (Chair of Governors 5 years, Governor 16 years). Joanne is a Member of the Richmond Local Learning Disability Partnership Board and Richmond Users & Carers group (16 years) and the Special School representative on Kingston and Richmond SEND Family Voices Steering Group and trustee (2 years). Joanne is also a Member Richmond Learning Disability Health Improvement Group (1 year). Joanne is currently retired and was previously a Clinical Research and Medical Writing Consultant.
John Kipps – Chief Executive Officer and Chief Accounting Officer
John is in his thirtieth year of teaching in Richmond. He has worked at Clarendon since 1993, and been Headteacher since 2006.
Susan Connor – Finance Director
Susan is ICAEW, Chartered Accountant. Susan has 6 years financial experience in the education sector as School Business Manager for Strathmore School. Prior to this Susan has 15 years audit and financial experience in the private sector.
Ivan has 26 years teaching experience, with 10 years as Head Teacher of Strathmore.
Ashley works for Achieving for Children and is part of the Senior Leadership Team. Prior to this Ashley was Senior Leader and Head of Business Studies and Economics at Richmond Park Academy
Ashley has a private sector background but moved to the public sector having taken part in the Tomorrow's Heads Programme, National College for Teaching and Leadership.
Gaelle is a parent with children at Clarendon and Strathmore and is an active member of both Governing Bodies. Gaelle has previously been a Governor at Meath School. Gaelle has a finance and economics background.
Lorna has a strong educational background, teaching for 12 years before joining St Mary’s University as a teacher educator for over 21 years, during which she completed her doctorate in SEND and Inclusion. As an Academic Director in the School of Education at St Mary’s Lorna established and ran both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, mainly focused upon teacher training; developed SEND teacher training and placement programmes and expanded the outreach, CPD and recruitment activities of the School, including the UK’s inaugural First Star Academy .
Lorna moved to First Star Academies UK as Executive Director in 2018. First Star runs long term university preparation programmes for Looked-after Young People – raising aspirations and supporting transition to higher education and university success.
Simon is a qualified solicitor in England and Wales (1993) and Hong Kong (1994). He is currently the Deputy General Counsel at Deutsche Bank, with responsibility for the UK Legal department and the teams for regulatory advisory, litigation and infrastructure.
